Edith Wharton on Dull Men — Quote of the Day / ‘The House of Mirth’ (via One-Minute Book Reviews)
One of the few things I loved about my first course with Professor A. McKenzie (The Nature of Literary Study), was Edith Wharton’s House of Mirth. It is one of those books that gave me that curious heated chill feeling you get that’s a combination of the warm feeling you get when you read a wonderful book and the sinking feeling in your stomach you get when you realize you’ll NEVER be able to write a sentence so wonderful, let alone a book.
I usually don’t repost on this blog (I love original content), but I had to share what has to be one of my favorite quotes from House of Mirth. Enjoy.
